Linux++:::: Quickie: converting to vcd and getting the right audio with tovid

Technorati tag(s):

I got a mkv file that have two languages - jp and en. Now, if we use tovid to convert it to vcd-able file:

  tovid -in thefile.mkv -out outfile -vcd -pal

tovid will use the first audio channel. In my case, that's en, which is not good since I like to watch my anime in its natural language (japanese) and read the sub title.

Checked with #tovid at irc.freenode,net (great bunch of guys there), and was told to try and use -map 0.1:0.2 with the ffmpeg command.

So, I added the statement in tovid, line 1657 (for tovid r1664), and voila!:

I can now watch my anime in its original form.
