Disclaimer: This setup was tested in windows. Should work with *nix and OOo environment, methinks.

At work, there are many documents scattered everywhere, done by so many people. How can we help centralize the documentation, keep revision and make everybody work together?

Answer: svn and tortoisesvn.

First off, install svn and make sure it works. Then install tortoisesvn and have the appropriate office suite (either MS or OOo).

Then we import our sets of documents and checkout to another folder. Once we have our working copy, do our edits, changes, commits and updates.

One feature that comes with tortoisesvn 1.5 is the ability to use MS suite or OOo suite to do the diff/compare.

In MS Word, the diff is shown in bubbles and red markers. In OOo, the diff is highlighted.
