Distros for server?

Linux comes in many different flavors or distros. That makes deciding which fits the server niche very hard. I've had that opportunity and i'm still scratcing my head :P

ipkg 0.99.105 in familiar 0.7.2

is very buggy. and i nuked my ipaq initially, thinking it was my mistakes :p. how can one upgrade a package manager, when the package manager is buggy to start with?

squid and zope

here's a note to self about using squid to accelerate zope. and to get combined log format. this is done with squid2.5stable5

Balancing your requests

Now that we've built it and sure enough, somebody came. Websites may be knocked down to its knees when it became popular enough. But what's the breaking point? With zope, that's not really a problem.

transparent proxy with squid and iptables

and using another squid as your parent. wow. here's what i did to get squid to transparently accept http requests and forward it to a squid parent. this has nothing to do with zope or python :P

KebasData-0.9.0 released!

finally, after more than a year with no updates, version 0.9.0 is released to the wild! it's been so long that some thought KebasData is obsolete ;)

Multiple storage on zope/Zeo

Zope/Zeo can have multiple storage mounted at anytime. Be default, zope already have two storages mounted ootb (w version 2.7.x); main and temporary_folder. Here's how to add more storage.
